LAUNCHING OF “WRINKLED HANDS, UNWRINKLED HEARTS” ON 17 JANUARY 2016

As part of Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society’s Afterlife Memorial Service (AMS), we embarked on house visits to the homes of these lonely and needy elderly to provide them company and listen to their life experiences. We realized many of these elderly have a wealth of experience to share and stories to tell. As such, Cheng Hong Welfare’s Care with Love Committee has gathered a group of young volunteers from local universities to come together to visit, listen and pen the stories of these elderly into a book commemorative of their contributions and lives.

Titled “Wrinkled Hands, Unwrinkled Hearts”, we hope that through the stories, we can get more young volunteers to come forth and interact with these elderly, to let these elderly have a new energized outlook to life again under the companionship of our volunteers.

This book will be distributed to secondary and tertiary educational institutions to allow more of the younger generation to be aware of the contributions made by our pioneer generation, and to encourage them to actively volunteer to help those elderly in need. We will also be distributing this book to senior citizen centres around Singapore so that our senior citizens can get to read these stories, which will resonate very well with them.

We hope to receive your strong support for this meaningful book publication; to let us spread the message to the younger generation to appreciate our elderly, and to let the needy elderly in our society know that they are being appreciated.

Your kind donation will be entitled to tax exemption.

All cheques are to be made payable to “Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society“. Please do indicate your NRIC or your organisation’s Unique Entity Number (UEN), and your mailing address for us to mail the tax exempt receipt to you. Kindly mail the cheque to Blk 12 Eunos Crescent #01-2767 Singapore 400012.

We appreciate your kind and generous support!
