ELDERLY LONGEVITY AND BURSARY AWARD CEREMONY 2016 HELD ON 24 JANUARY 2016

The annual Elderly Longevity and Bursary Award Ceremony 2016 was held on 24 January 2016 at 26 Arumugam Road. This ceremony was held in collaboration with Cheng Hong Siang Tng (Charitable Organisation). The event was graced by Associate Professor Fatimah Lateef, MP for Marine Parade GRC (Geylang Serai) and Honorary Advisor to Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society.

 

Elderly Longevity Ceremony

A total of 320 needy elderly received longevity red packets. These elderly consist of ¬†elderly who are registered under Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society’s Afterlife Memorial Service (AMS), and other elderly from various parts of Singapore who require financial assistance.

Scholarship and Bursary Award Ceremony

5 students from local universities were awarded the Cheng Hong Siang Tng Scholarship Award, each amounting to $2,000. The students had excelled academically and are willing to contribute their time for volunteer service with Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society.

45 students from Primary to Tertiary educational levels, received bursary awards amounting from $150 to $800. The bursary award recipients are required to fulfill certain academic and family income criteria before being selected by the Bursary Award Committee.
